EVOLUTION I is the first in a series of high resolution printers designed and manufactured in the United States by Digital Design. It offers high reliability at a low cost with a network of domestic and international distributors for support.

Ink Jet Technology by Hewlett Packard: Based on the proven Hewlett Packard thermal ink jet printhead, EVOLUTION delivers bold, fully formed characters from the first print to the last. |
| Optimum Print Resolution: EVOLUTION gives you a full 300 DPI at production line speeds of up to 200 feet per minute. |
| Variable Character Heights: Two character heights are supplied as standard on EVOLUTION. Print a one line message in 1/2" characters, or two lines of 7/32". Selecting the character size is accomplished through the font key on the hand held controller. |

Ink Supply: Built into the printhead is a 42cc ink reservoir. Once the ink in the cartridge has been depleted, it can be taken out, disposed of and a new ink cartridge inserted in just seconds. |

Add-On Printheads: Adding another printhead is a simple as sliding it on. Each printhead module is manufactured with a dovetail slot on one side and a dovetail slide on the other. Up to three additional printheads can be attached on a single bracket by inserting the slide on one into the slot on the other. A small RS485 data cable is then used to connect the modules. This allows the hand held controller to network all of the printheads on the production line. |

Customized: EVOLUTION can be easily customized to fit each individual users requirements. Font styles, character heights (different than the standard 1/2" and 7/32"), and logos can be supplied and easily added with optional data flash cards. Software which can expand the standard operating parameters of the EVOLUTION printer (expanded memory, extended message length, time and date numbering and more) are also available as options on data flash cards. |
| Net Working Capabilities: The hand held controller is capable of controlling up to 32 individual printhead modules through the use of a RS 485 data cable. A small data cable is used to connect the printhead on the same production line, while a longer cable connects them to the printers on the next production line in the manufacturing area. Complete PC control of the EVOLUTION network can be accomplished with our optional EVOLUTION-NET software. |
