Add-On
Printhead Modules:
EVOLUTION comes standard with one printhead module. If your
a dovetail slide on one side, and a dovetail slot on the other. Simply insert the slide on one module into the slot on the other and secure it
in place with the locking screw. Up to four printhead modules can be held in place on a single bracket.
If the application calls for printing on both sides of the product, an additional bracket and printhead modules can be mounted on both sides of the production line.
Spring
Loaded Carton Follower:
A printhead breakaway is a standard feature on the
horizontal mounting shaft that holds the printhead module in place. However, if cartons are frequently misaligned as they travel down the conveyor the carton follower can prevent damage to the printhead module by moving it backward while still maintaining the proper print distance. The spring loaded feature returns it to the original position when the carton has passed.
Top Coding Bracketry:
EVOLUTION is capable of top coding. It does however require a small add-on bracket to allow the printhead module to face down toward the surface to be printed.
External Product Sensor:
If the application is printing onto a web or if graphics on the carton prevent the built in sensor from reading the carton properly, the external product sensor can be positioned to overcome these difficulties.
External Encoder:
Graphics and barcodes require production line speeds that do not vary. If they do, the logo or barcode will be either condensed or elongated depending on how the speed changes. To overcome this, an optional encoder will track the varying speed of the line and will provide accurate timing pulses to the printhead module to give you a perfect print.
Floor Stand:
A floor stand can be used as a portable base for the EVOLUTION printer to move it to different production lines.
Low Ink Beacon:
A Low Ink Beacon has been developed for EVOLUTION I and I I printers. The beacon stands 15" tall and has a round base with mounting holes. It plugs into the open port on the printhead module. Low ink is indicated by the flashing red light on top of the assembly, and turns on when approximately 2% on ink is remaining in the cartridge.
