Software Options A series of four Optional Software Packages have been developed for EVOLUTION. These packages give the end user the flexibility to add only what he needs for his particular application They are supplied on a Data Flash Card and can be easily installed in the field. They can each operate independently, or as a group making the EVOLUTION a full featured system while still maintaining the low cost benefit. The Optional Software Package on the Data Flash Card is intended to be used in only one printhead module. If the same option package is required in more than one printhead, separate option packages must be purchased.
Optional Software Package No. 1 This package contains three software features.
Message Storage: Allows the user to store up to 50 messages in the hand held controller. The stored messages contain the text and the operating parameters such as line speed and print registration.
Automatic Message Repeat: Designed for those applications where a continuously repeating message is required. The distance between message repeats can be programmed through the controller to give varying distances of up to 20 inches.
Password Protection: This feature gives a supervisor the ability to store a password into the controller to prevent unauthorized tampering of the message and the operating parameters of the system.
Optional Software Package No. 1.5 The standard message length with EVOLUTION is one line of 24 characters 1/2" in height, or 48 characters of 7/32" high with 24 characters per line. This package gives the user added message length capability and expands message storage.
Extended Message Length: Expands the message length to one line of 48 characters, 1/2" high, or 96 characters, 7/32" in height with 48 characters per line.
Expanded Memory: Expands message storage up to 99 messages which includes both the text and operating parameters and are stored in the hand held controller.
Optional Software Package No. 2 Sequential numbering along with time and date coding capabilities can be added with this package.
Sequential Numbering: A user defined sequential numbering counter is added with this option. Sequential number can start at zero or any number entered up to a maximum of 9 digits. Example: 0000 (start) 9999 (end and reset to 0000)
Variable Date Formats: Can be represented in a numerical (05/25/09), alphabetical (May 25, 2009) or Julian (145) formats. The formats can be arranged to print Month/Day/Year, or Day/Month/Year. The ability to print only the month and year or other combinations are totally programmable. Delimiters (: , / ) are selectable.
Variable Time Formats: Military style time numbering in hours and minutes (14:45) can be entered into the message for more precise production tracking. Time can be printed as hours and minutes, hours only or minutes only. Delimiters (: , / ) are selectable.
Added Value: Optional Software Package No.2 also includes all of the software features contained in Option Packages 1 and 1.5.
Optional Software Package No. 3 This package consists of Shift Coding, Offset Date Coding and Product Count capabilities.
Shift Coding: Can break the day into 6 or less individual shifts and will print either a single number or alpha character to identify each shift.
Date Offset: Allows for the automatic rollover of expiration dates. The user can program in up to 999 days and the printer will automatically advance the date by that value.
Product Counter: Gives the user the ability to count the number of products printer within a user programmed time period.
Added Value: Optional Software Package No.3 also includes all of the software features contained in Option Packages 1, 1.5 and 2. |
